Laylatul Jaaizah - The Night Preceding Eid-ul-Fitr

Oil Lamp
Laylatul Jaaizah - It has been the practice of the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he would not sleep in the night preceding the day of Eid-ul-Fitr.

This night has been named in Hadeeth as 'Laylatul Jaaizah' (The Night of Reward).

It means that Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) bestows His rewards to those who have spent the month of Ramadhan abiding by the dictates of Shari'ah, and all their prayers during this night are accepted.

It is desirable to perform Nafl prayers in this night. The Prophet (peace be upon him) is reported to have said,

"Whosoever stands in worship in the nights preceding the two Eids expecting rewards from his Lord, his heart will not die when the other hearts will die" (Ibn Majah)
